Anne Jenkins, VP of Product Management at Leasepath pulls the curtain back on AI’s hidden potential in the asset and equipment finance industry
AI has been the talk of the tech world for the last 18 months. Whether solving problems or sparking debates, AI has dominated conversations. Amidst all the noise, we’ve seen some genuinely impressive applications, from AI interpreting documents to reduce manual data entry, to spoofing voices so accurately they could pass biometric checks. However, as AI’s potential is embraced in many industries, asset and equipment finance have largely kept it at arm’s length.
Anne Jenkins, VP of Product Management at Leasepath, has a unique perspective on this. After spending four years working in AI, Anne returned to the asset finance industry, having previously worked with companies like ALFA, White Clarke Group, and CGI. What stood out to her was the slow pace at which equipment finance was adopting AI, especially when compared to other sectors, where AI is reshaping operations and enhancing customer experiences.
Companies that embrace AI early and implement it effectively will gain a significant advantage. AI’s potential ranges from automating underwriting and document processing to refining customer interactions and making smarter business decisions. The opportunities for AI in equipment finance are vast and transformative.
Curious about this hesitation, Anne sought to explore what AI will mean for the future of equipment finance. She spoke with leaders from within the industry, as well as experts from financial services and technology, to better understand the challenges and opportunities AI presents. These discussions provided valuable insights into why the adoption rate has been slower and offered advice for companies looking to embark on their AI journey.
